LIFT PLUGS

The Lift Plug is a small easy-to-handle sub that makes up in the top of the drill collar. It has a lifting flange that serves as a safety stop when drill collars without elevator recesses are being tripped out of the hole. The centre section of the Lift Plug is bored out to reduce weight for easy handling. They are available in all thread types and sizes.

ORDERING INSTRUCTIONS

When ordering or requesting quotations on Lift Plugs, please specify the following –

  1. Drill Collar OD,
  2. Drill Collar Connection seize and type,
  3. Cast or pressed steel thread protectors.

LIFT SUBS

A Lift Sub enables the safe, efficient handling of straight OD tubular such as drill collars, shock tools, jars, directional equipment and other tools by using the drill pipe elevators.

OTI’s Lift Subs have an upper shoulder as well as reduced neck for securing in the elevators. They are available in all thread types and sizes.

Note: For a box-up lift sub, add 6” to overall length.
